Crime Prevention

       The Orangeburg Department of Public Safety is committed to serving the people in the City of Orangeburg and as a part of our service we provide an extensive array of crime prevention training to various elements in our community.

       The Orangeburg Department of Public Safety has personnel who are certified crime prevention specialists and there are officers with training experience to help you learn to be safe.

       To schedule a training session or to learn more about our crime prevention programs, telephone the Orangeburg Department of Public Safety Crime Prevention office at 803-533-4113. Allow at least 30 days prior notice before making a request for crime prevention training for your group. Facilities at the Orangeburg Department of Public Safety Headquarters can be used as a last resort but it is preferable for you to provide facilities large enough to accommodate your group. This training is available to accommodate Hispanic-speaking individuals.

Module Three

It is highly recommended that parents attend thi8s training with their children.

  • Fingerprinting programs
  • Recommendations for parents
  • Preventing child sexual abuse...Tips for parents
  • At school and play
  • Halloween safety tips
  • Cyber safety for children


Module Four

Crime prevention for adolescents (middle and high school students)
Parents are advised that this module includes information and frank discussion regarding date rape and sexual assault.
It is highly recommended that parents attend this training with their teenage children.
